Tyron Palace In The State’s First Capital
Living in New Bern means you’re living in one of the most historic cities in the United States. The city is the home to Tryon Palace, which was North Carolina’s first permanent state capital. This beautiful palace and grounds once housed colonial governors and boasts more than 14 acres of gardens. Listed as one of New Bern’s most popular attractions, the Tryon Palace is set to host a number of events during the next few months. Here are a couple that we strongly recommend that you attend.
Spring Garden Lovers’ Weekend
Taking place on Friday, April 13 to Sunday, April 15, Spring Garden Lovers’ Weekend is a weekend that truly lets you enjoy the wonders of spring. During this weekend, admission to the gardens will be free, so bring a loved one along to stroll through the luscious grounds, see the spring flowers, and enjoy the tulips in bloom.
Spring Heritage Plant Sale
During the same weekend as the Spring Garden Lovers’ Weekend, you can enjoy the Spring Heritage Plant Sale. Located on the Daves House Lawn, the plant sale will display various perennials, annuals, herbs, trees, and shrubs that you can purchase for your own garden. These plants have been reared with great love and care, grown locally in our greenhouse or by local growers. All proceeds will go to benefit the Tryon Palace.
If you need a vehicle to get you to the Tryon Palace in style, then be sure to stop by Trent Cadillac New Bern, NC.
