Ditch the Candy—and the Trip to the Dentist—with These Healthy Halloween Alternatives

When someone mentions Halloween, many of us can’t help but immediately think of candy. Unfortunately, getting a month’s supply of candy all at once isn’t necessarily the healthiest thing for children. This year, try out one or more of these healthy Halloween alternatives that kids are sure to love—and which won’t cause cavities!

Fruit

Fruit is nature’s candy, and as such, it’s a perfect Halloween treat. It also makes a great snack for kids to bite into while they’re out trick or treating.

Stickers

Kids love stickers, and they are a wonderful alternative to candy. Stickers are also very inexpensive and can be bought in bulk easily, so you don’t have to skimp on them when passing them out.

Key Chains

Key chains are another fun alternative to Halloween candy. It’s cheap and easy to buy a variety of small key chains that kids will enjoy picking out.

Activity Pads

A piece of candy is gone in a matter of seconds. An inexpensive activity pad, on the other hand, lasts hours and can be educational as well as healthier than candy.

Temporary Tattoos

Finally, consider stocking up on temporary tattoos this Halloween. On a holiday that is all about dressing up, temporary tattoos make a perfect treat for excited ghouls and goblins at your door.
