Cadillac Super Cruise Technology Coming to CT6 This Fall

The new Cadillac Super Cruise technology, a self-driving system that lets the driver operate the car hands-free, will debut on the 2018 Cadillac CT6 this fall.

Super Cruise is Cadillac’s answer to similar Autopilot systems. It lets the driver safely do other tasks while driving, such as make phone calls. The car still needs driver feedback in certain situations, though, so it uses a camera to monitor your eyeline and alerts you if it detects that you’re looking away from the road for too long.

Using a suite of sophisticated driver assist technologies, the Super Cruise system on the CT6 will monitor the position and speed of other vehicles to decrease speed and engage the brakes, depending on traffic conditions.

Drivers will only be able to use Super Cruise on the highway, which simplifies the system since it doesn’t need to detect pedestrians or traffic lights. Still it works at high speeds on clear highways as well as in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

The new Super Cruise technology will further set the CT6 apart from other entries in the luxury sedan segment and boost its popularity among drivers looking for the latest driver assist and self-driving technologies. Updates and Changes to a Few 2018 Cadillac Models

2018 is a great year for Cadillac, which will see refreshes and tech updates for a few of its models, as well as whispers of new models and trims set to be released next year. The Cadillac XTS and ATS are just two of the Cadillac cars that will offer new styling and features for the 2018 model year.

2018 Cadillac XTS

The XTS is getting a big refresh for 2018. The brand’s full-size sedan will feature tweaks to its front and rear styling, making it fit in better with the rest of the Cadillac lineup and giving it a sleeker, more modern look.

2018 Cadillac ATS

The ATS, Cadillac’s compact car offering, is another model receiving some styling updates. It adds a new color, Satin Steel Mechanic, a deep gray that gives the ATS extra sophistication, as well as other minor interior and exterior changes. The ATS also now comes with an available heated steering wheel.

Next-Generation CUE System

Both the XTS and the ATS will get the latest version of Cadillac CUE, which not only features faster speed and a redesigned interface, but also cloud support that lets you transfer your data from Cadillac to Cadillac, adjusting to your preferences and needs.
