Planning a summer road trip but don’t know where to go? Check out these exciting vacation destinations in the Carolinas this summer.
There’s so much more to do than head to the beach in Charleston. Sight-seeing and exploring historic districts are also at the top of the list in this charming coastal city.
While not a beach destination, Asheville is a cozy mountain town knows for its craft beer and arts scene. It’s also close to Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachia for the outdoorsy types out there.
Off the coast of North Carolina, the Outer Banks are formed by a group of relaxing barrier islands with a small-town feel. Lounge on the numerous beaches or explore the many local lighthouses.
A leisurely vacation at the Hilton Head by Coligny Beach is just what everybody needs to take the edge off. From an upscale golf course to beaches without a crowd, Hilton Head offers peaceful solitude.
Located near the Blue Ridge Mountains, this scenic city isn’t a big tourist trap – which makes it all the more charming. Plus, it’s famous for the local culinary scene, so you can get your foodie on.
Once you’ve selected your destination, you need a car with enough space for your cargo before you can embark on your summer road trip. The Cadillac Escalade offers up to 94.2 cu. ft. of storage capacity, or if you want something a bit smaller, the all-new Cadillac CT4 is versatile enough to pack for a trip, too.
You can find both of these vehicles when you visit Trent Cadillac.
One of the most anticipated vehicles in Cadillac’s future may very well be on its way. Rumors suggest that the all-new Cadillac Escala will soon enter production. The vehicle, which isn’t in Cadillac’s current lineup but made its 2016 debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, has already earned itself quite a fan-following among enthusiasts. In fact, the Cadillac Escala has been in development for so long that fans were beginning to wonder if it was being released to the masses at all.
But fans of the new sedan won’t have to worry anymore. The rumor mill says that the Cadillac Escala will be on its way by 2021. The news came from a video produced by Autoline Network and shared by AutoForecast Solutions, in which AutoForecast Solutions vice president Sam Fiorani shared that “a new program at Cadillac that the manufacturer is calling ‘Escala’” would be “a very limited production model due to enter production in 2021.” The Cadillac Escala, the video reported, will also be constructed at the brand’s plant in Hamtramck, Michigan.
This location suggests that the all-new Cadillac Escala will share the Omega platform with the Cadillac CT6, which is produced at the same plant. However, the Cadillac Escala will likely be larger than the CT6, suggesting the brand is getting a new flagship sedan.
Here at Trent Cadillac, we can’t wait to see if this exciting new Cadillac concept vehicle comes to fruition by 2021.
The Cadillac lineup hasn’t expanded too much in recent years, but now the luxury marque is looking to change that. The manufacturer is off to an impressive start with the official reveal of the 2019 Cadillac XT4. Slotted below the Cadillac XT5 crossover, the Cadillac XT4 is perfect for younger drivers interested in technology and luxury at an affordable price.
The 2019 Cadillac XT4 was officially unveiled ahead of the New York International Auto Show. The all-new model remains true to what Cadillac represents while providing a confident crossover for younger drivers.
Sweeping lines located both inside and out set the Cadillac XT4 apart from the rest of the lineup. The cabin offers more space than most competitors. The upcoming model even features best-in-class rear seat legroom.
Unlike in other Cadillac models, the Cadillac XT4 features a rotary control system as opposed to a touchscreen-based system. The new control scheme is designed to work flawlessly with the Cadillac User Experience interface.
The Cadillac XT4 will arrive with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Notably, the XT4 crossover does not include the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system. The advanced system is reserved for more expensive models, at least for the moment.
The 2019 Cadillac XT4 will arrive on dealership lots in fall. Here at Trent Cadillac, we are eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Rocking out and having a good time are two things that go hand-in-hand in New Bern. This year’s Rockin’ on the Rivers music festival takes place on July 20th, rain or shine. Trent Cadillac is proud to be a sponsor of the Rockin’ on the Rivers music festival.
The Rockin’ on the Rivers music festival is the second concert in the 2018 Summer Concert Series. The New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with WRNS 95.1 to make this event particularly special. As a result, Parmalee with Bryan Mayer and 3 Day Weekend will be performing live on the waterfront.
Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance and $20 at the gate. Children under 12 years old are admitted for free when accompanied by a paying adult. Ticket sales began on April 9th and can be purchased online at the New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce website. It is award season for our favorite celebs in Hollywood, so the staff at Trent Cadillac decided to reflect on our favorite movies. To no one’s surprise, a lot of us at the dealership are partial to movies with Cadillacs in them. Here are some of our favorite movies featuring Cadillacs:
- The Big Wheel: This film starred Mickey Rooney and his 1941 Cadillac series 62 convertible coupe. In the film, Rooney establishes a career in motorsports.
- Driving Miss Daisy: The widely celebrated film, Driving Miss Daisy, which won several awards and starred Morgan Freeman, Jessica Tandy, and Dan Aykroyd, features a classic 1956 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special.
- Pink Cadillac: This film stars Clint Eastwood and Bernadette Peters, but perhaps even more memorable is the unapologetically pink Cadillac series 62 convertible.
- Every Which Way But Loose: Another Eastwood film, Every Which Way But Loose features a 1959 Cadillac convertible in the American West.
- National Lampoon films: A number of the National Lampoon films, starring Chevy Chase, feature Cadillac models.
- Ghostbusters: The National Lampoons films weren’t the only comedies to star a Cadillac. The hilarious Ghostbusters cult classic starring Bill Murray also features a 1959 Cadillac Ambulance.
What’s your favorite movie featuring a Cadillac?
After a long and stormy winter with its fair share of snow, ice, and even rain, we’re finally staring down a warm spring and a hot summer (though no promises on that rain ever ending). When you can find a sunny day, pack up your new car from Trent Cadillac and head out to explore the outdoors.
Not sure where to go? These are the five best parks in and around New Bern, North Carolina:
- New Bern Historical Society Civil War Battlefield Park: If you are a history buff who enjoys a walk through nature, take a tour of this historic battlefield set on 30 acres, which played host to the Battle of New Bern.
- Kidsville Playground: The youngsters may not appreciate the significance of a battlefield, but they’ll sure love the playground equipment at Kidsville.
- Isaac Taylor Garden: This outdoor garden area in downtown New Bern can be reserved for private events, like a family picnic or a summer wedding.
- Island Creek Trail: Enjoy a good hike? You’ll find plenty of loop options at Island Creek Trail with beautiful views.
- Creekside Park: Go play a game of baseball or just take a dog for the walk at this beautiful park.
The perfect way to get to these beautiful parks is in a new vehicle purchased at Trent Cadillac.
The Craven Concert Series has been providing New Bern and the surrounding area with the opportunity to experience live music for 34 consecutive years – and this year is no different.
For the 2018 season, the series has a number of concerts lined up. On Tuesday, March 20, you can enjoy the musical comedy of 3 Redneck Tenors. This trio are all classically trained, but like to bring some down-home laughs to their performance. Many say it’s like Duck Dynasty goes to the opera – and who wouldn’t want to see that? Even better, 3 Redneck Tenors were Finalists on America’s Got Talent, so you know they will definitely entertain.
If jazz and R&B are more your style, then you should see the Side Street Strutters performance, which is happening on Wednesday, April 11. Hear some of your favorites like Gershwin, Ellington, and, of course, Sinatra. The Strutters were awarded the Outstanding Musicianship Award by the International Association of Jaz Educators and awarded First Place at the Breda International Jazz Competition.
All performances within the Craven Concert Series are held in the Grover C. Fields Performing Arts Center and begin at 7:30pm on the date they are scheduled.
Enjoy some music this year and get your tickets for these performances now. Just order them online or at the box office before the performance. If you need a ride to get there, stop by Trent Cadillac.
When the seasons change, the chance you will begin to experience issues with your car increases. Your dashboard lights can help you easily diagnose any problems your car is having before they become a bigger problem. Here is a quick look at the more commonly seen dashboard indicator lights and their meanings.
Tire Pressure Warning: Fluctuating temperatures mean your tire pressure will fluctuate. When your pressure is over or under its recommended range, the Tire Pressure Warning indicator will light up. Make sure you check your pressure and either fill your tires or deflate them slightly to keep them at the proper pressure.
Check engine light: The Check Engine Light can come on for a range of reasons, from having a loose gas cap to needing new spark plugs for your engine. If this engine-shaped light comes on, it’s a good idea to bring your car into your local mechanic’s shop to make sure your car keeps running smoothly.
Battery charge alert: Shaped like a battery, the Battery Charge Alert light will come on when your car’s battery is running on a low charge – or is dead. Keep an eye out for this alert, as batteries tend to last about five years or so.
Being aware of your dashboard lights can go a long way towards helping you keep your car out of the mechanic’s shop and on the road. If you see any lights illuminate on your dash, be sure to bring your vehicle into Trent Cadillac to have the issue addressed.
