When General Motors replaced Johan de Nysschen with Cadillac’s new boss, Steve Carlisle, many people speculated that Cadillac might be moving out of New York City and return to its original home in Detroit. Well, it looks like that just isn’t the case – Cadillac is staying in the Big Apple.
Carlisle recently confirmed that Cadillac headquarters will not be leaving its current location. In fact, GM’s executives and analysts all agree that New York remains the perfect place for Cadillac to remain. Carlisle even went as far as to say that he will commute to Detroit or any other location as needed to ensure that Cadillac is a top-selling luxury brand.
“It’s 100 percent that we’re staying here, that was never a question,” said Andrew Lipman, Cadillac spokesman in New York. He went on to state, “New York made sense because it’s the epicenter of where luxury trends are made.”
Currently, the brand’s New York office, called Cadillac House, works as a hub of these trends. Not only does it have a coffee house and display cars throughout its lobby, but it also holds events. For instance, its partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America allows a different fashion designer to curate the building’s event space every three months and hold events there.
Despite its New York location, Cadillac’s vehicles will continue to be designed and engineered in the Detroit area. We here at Trent Cadillac wouldn’t have it any other way.

When consumers buy a new car or SUV, they often think not just of what they need out of a vehicle, but what their most common occupants need out of it as well. Another important consideration is your pets. While dogs are the most common consideration, drivers with cats, birds, and everything in between should prioritize space and cargo flexibility, among other essential pet-friendly features.
Here are the best Cadillac vehicles for pet owners:
The Escalade is easily Cadillac’s largest vehicle, which makes it perfect for drivers with multiple dogs, especially of large breeds. In total, the Escalade offers up 94.2 cubic feet of cargo space; graduate to the Cadillac Escalade ESV and unlock even more space—up to 120.9 cubic feet.
Cadillac XT4 or XT5:
The grandest Cadillac SUV is, of course, the Escalade, but if you don’t need that much space, the Cadillac XT4 and XT5 crossovers should offer plenty of space for you and your pets. The former gets you up to 48.9 cubic feet, and the latter gets you 63.0 cubic feet.
Cadillac XTS Sedan:
Don’t want a crossover? Cadillac’s XTS sedan is also a perfect choice for pet owners with up to 18.0 cubic feet of cargo space.

Concept vehicles are a unique way for automakers to foreshadow the future design direction of the brand and to try out some truly out-of-the-box ideas. These vehicles are typically not manufactured as is, but they often influence the design of current and upcoming models. So what does the current lineup of Cadillac concept vehicles include?
Escala is Spanish for “scale,” a clever name as the Escala concept is meant to accentuate Cadillac’s classic proportion while bringing it into the future. Signature elements of the Cadillac Escala concept include OLED lighting, a bold grille, cashmere door trim and seating, and more premium materials like leather, brushed aluminum, and American walnut.
The Elmiraj grand coupe concept hints at the future of two-door coupe design. With a nod to the classic El Dorado, the Elmiraj is elegant, yet athletic, with wide swinging doors and a long wheelbase. Interior materials include handpicked fallen Brazilian Rosewood and cut-and-sewn camel leather.
The open-air Cadillac Ciel convertible concept reimagines the classic design of large four-seat convertibles and catapults it into the future. The Ciel concept takes its name from the French word for “sky.” Its exterior is boldly styled with large rear-hinged doors, a long body, and a short nose.
Here at Trent Cadillac, we look forward to seeing how Cadillac incorporates elements from these concept vehicles into it future lineup.

While not a beach destination, Asheville is a cozy mountain town knows for its craft beer and arts scene. It’s also close to Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachia for the outdoorsy types out there.
Off the coast of North Carolina, the Outer Banks are formed by a group of relaxing barrier islands with a small-town feel. Lounge on the numerous beaches or explore the many local lighthouses.
A leisurely vacation at the Hilton Head by Coligny Beach is just what everybody needs to take the edge off. From an upscale golf course to beaches without a crowd, Hilton Head offers peaceful solitude.
Located near the Blue Ridge Mountains, this scenic city isn’t a big tourist trap – which makes it all the more charming. Plus, it’s famous for the local culinary scene, so you can get your foodie on.
Once you’ve selected your destination, you need a car with enough space for your cargo before you can embark on your summer road trip. The Cadillac Escalade offers up to 94.2 cu. ft. of storage capacity, or if you want something a bit smaller, the all-new Cadillac CT4 is versatile enough to pack for a trip, too.

One of the most anticipated vehicles in Cadillac’s future may very well be on its way. Rumors suggest that the all-new Cadillac Escala will soon enter production. The vehicle, which isn’t in Cadillac’s current lineup but made its 2016 debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, has already earned itself quite a fan-following among enthusiasts. In fact, the Cadillac Escala has been in development for so long that fans were beginning to wonder if it was being released to the masses at all.
But fans of the new sedan won’t have to worry anymore. The rumor mill says that the Cadillac Escala will be on its way by 2021. The news came from a video produced by Autoline Network and shared by AutoForecast Solutions, in which AutoForecast Solutions vice president Sam Fiorani shared that “a new program at Cadillac that the manufacturer is calling ‘Escala’” would be “a very limited production model due to enter production in 2021.” The Cadillac Escala, the video reported, will also be constructed at the brand’s plant in Hamtramck, Michigan.
This location suggests that the all-new Cadillac Escala will share the Omega platform with the Cadillac CT6, which is produced at the same plant. However, the Cadillac Escala will likely be larger than the CT6, suggesting the brand is getting a new flagship sedan.
Here at Trent Cadillac, we can’t wait to see if this exciting new Cadillac concept vehicle comes to fruition by 2021.
The Cadillac lineup hasn’t expanded too much in recent years, but now the luxury marque is looking to change that. The manufacturer is off to an impressive start with the official reveal of the 2019 Cadillac XT4. Slotted below the Cadillac XT5 crossover, the Cadillac XT4 is perfect for younger drivers interested in technology and luxury at an affordable price.
The 2019 Cadillac XT4 was officially unveiled ahead of the New York International Auto Show. The all-new model remains true to what Cadillac represents while providing a confident crossover for younger drivers.
Sweeping lines located both inside and out set the Cadillac XT4 apart from the rest of the lineup. The cabin offers more space than most competitors. The upcoming model even features best-in-class rear seat legroom.
Unlike in other Cadillac models, the Cadillac XT4 features a rotary control system as opposed to a touchscreen-based system. The new control scheme is designed to work flawlessly with the Cadillac User Experience interface.
The Cadillac XT4 will arrive with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Notably, the XT4 crossover does not include the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system. The advanced system is reserved for more expensive models, at least for the moment.
The 2019 Cadillac XT4 will arrive on dealership lots in fall. Here at Trent Cadillac, we are eagerly awaiting its arrival.
