Do you want to do your part in helping military families this holiday season? Check out any of these tips.
Focus On Specific Needs
While we appreciate the work veterans have done for our country, there are many veterans who need help with specific needs, such as being elderly, homeless, or unemployed. Volunteer or donate to one of these groups if you’d like to help.
Call Your Local Military Base
Often, military bases will have a list of different programs to which individuals can donate their money or time.
Reach Out to Military Hospitals
Recovering veterans may be coping with their injuries and in need of ways to entertain and sooth themselves, so contact a military hospital to see exactly what they need.
Go Through Any of These Programs
- Adopt-a-Family or Adopt-a-Veteran programs: There are many of these from different organizations, which allow you to care for a particular family or veteran.
- Operation Christmas Spirit or Operation Holiday Joy: These programs are tailored specific toward holiday donations.
- Trees for Troops: Help get a military family a Christmas tree this year.
- Full Circle Home: This organization helps deployed service members send their wives gift boxes from afar.
Helping military families so that they can enjoy their Christmas is your own way of thanking them for their service, a cause we at Trent Cadillac are certainly passionate about.
